After a scoreless first quarter, the Arizona Cardinals took advantage of two Detroit Lions turnovers and head into halftime with a 14-7 lead behind two scoring runs by Beanie Wells.
The quarter began with the Lions driving down the field and scoring on a one-yard run my Michael LeShoure to cap a 73-yard drive.
The next series ended with a punt for the Cardinals, but punt returner Stefan Logan muffed it and Michael Adams recovered it at the five-yard line. The very first play was a touchdown run by Beanie Wells to tie the score.
Later in the quarter, after Arizona punted again, Logan fielded the ball inside the 10-yard line and was tackled by Justin Bethel. Two false start penalties by Detroit pushed them back a little further and Matthew Stafford attempted a throw down the field to Calvin Johnson, who was covered by Patrick Peterson. Peterson snagged his seventh interception of the year and returned it to the three-yard line.
Beanie Wells punched it in with two carries to make it 14-7.
With Detroit trying to score in the two-minute drill, Rashad Johnson picked off another Stafford pass and returned it 53 yards to push the lead to 21-7.
Arizona's two scoring drives combined for a total of eight yards.
At halftime, Stafford is 9/22 for 85 yards and two picks. Calvin Johnson has four catches for 39 yards.
Lindley has 58 yards passing and an interception. Beanie Wells has the scores and 24 yards on 10 carries.
