Players say Whisenhunt hasn't lost players

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt is under deep fire, but his players will still try to back him.

USA TODAY Sports

How do the Arizona Cardinals recover from their downward path? And how do they maintain faith in head coach Ken Whisenhunt?

The Cardinals are coming off a historic loss to the Seahawks, getting blown out in Seattle 58-0. After an incredible 4-0 start, the wheels have come off. Arizona has dropped nine games straight, and thoughts of the playoffs have become a distant memory. President Michael Bidwell has yet to make any decision on whether they'll decide to bring Whisenhunt back.

Defensive tackle Nick Eason seems to indicate the team will back their head coach through the rest of the season, because what else can they do? Darren Urban of the Arizona Cardinals website got this quote from Eason:

"He’s our coach and he’ll remain our coach until someone says so ... But at the end of the day, we’re the players and we’re the ones who have to go out and execute."

The next game for the Cardinals will be Sunday against the Detroit Lions. They then conclude the season against the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers, both of which should be rather difficult contests.
