Aeneas Williams a semifinalist for 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame class

Former Cardinal Aeneas Williams was named a Pro Football Hall of fame semifinalist on Friday.

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced 27 semifinalists for the 2013 class and former Arizona Cardinal Aeneas Williams was one of those selected.

Williams is in his second year on the Hall of Fame ballot. He was one of 15 finalists for the 2012 class, but was not one of the five selected. Arizona selected Williams in the third round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He played 10 seasons in Arizona before finishing his career with the St. Louis Rams.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl eight times during his career, including six times with Arizona. He was also named a first-team All-Pro selection four times, three of which came while he was on the Cardinals. Williams was considered to be one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL during his time with the Cardinals. He was selected into Arizona's Ring of Honor in 2008.

The 27 semifinalists will be reduced to 15 finalists before the Class of 2013 is announced on Feb. 2.
