After Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday that extended their losing streak to five games, the Arizona Cardinals are heading into a bye week with a lot questions to answer and possible changes on the horizon.
Head coach Ken Whisenhunt will use this time to re-evaluate both sides of the ball and possibly make changes where necessary both in personnel as well as scheme.
"This gives us a chance with some of our players, to evaluate them over more than a one-game or two-game or three-game period," Whisenhunt said. "You can look at a body of work and say we're not getting it done and we're willing to make the change and go with the next guy and see what he can do to help us."
Whisenhunt is already wary of the wear and tear the season is having on his nine rookies. The season has already eclipsed that of a college football season – if one includes the preseason games – so he's keeping an eye on them.
But he's also still using them when needed, like when he replaced offensive tackle D'Anthony Batiste with rookie Nate Potter in the second quarter on Sunday. Whisenhunt wouldn't commit to Potter remaining in the lineup for the Cardinals' next game against the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 18, but it would be a surprise if he doesn't stay.
