Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington is one of the top five Pro Bowl vote-getters at the linebacker position, reports the team. Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman, both of the San Francisco 49ers, are the only linebackers ahead of Washington.
Washington, currently in his third year with the Cardinals, is on pace for a career year. He has 95 tackles and an interception through 11 games, and career-highs in forced fumbles (two) and sacks (nine). His best game of the year came against the Minnesota Vikings, in which he collected eight tackles and two sacks in the team's losing effort. Washington was selected by Arizona in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, 47th overall.
After a 4-0 start, seven straight losses have turned a surprising start into a severe disappointment for Cardinals fans. Larry Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson were both in the top five in early Pro Bowl voting, but on-field struggles by Arizona have cost both men votes, and they have dropped from that position.
