While Kevin Kolb said Wednesday he doesn't know when he'll be ready to return for the Arizona Cardinals, he didn't rule out Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
That said, Kolb told Arizona Sports that he still is experiencing pain to his ribs after he was injured against the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 14. His return is contingent on whether taking shots to the area would do further damage, he told Arizona Sports.
"It obviously hurts where the injury happened, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily a pain thing that you can't play through," Kolb said. "Is it healed enough to take that shot without re-breaking it or whatever?"
Kolb added that he's still somewhat limited in his throwing motion because of the injury, and his passes aren't yet at 100 percent velocity. Limited in practices, Kolb will be reassessed after Wednesday's practice, according to Craig Morgan of Fox Sports Arizona.
Kolb has thrown for 1,169 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions this year.
Rookie Ryan Lindley will get the start on Sunday assuming Kolb remains sidelined. Lindley threw four interceptions last week against the St. Louis Rams in his first start of the season.
