Week 12 NFL odds: Rams vs. Cardinals

The Cardinals are only slight favorites at home against a St. Louis Rams team that looks to be getting better as the season wears on.

The Arizona Cardinals head into the division game against the St. Louis Rams as one-point favorites as they play host their rivals from the midwest at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday in an effort to snap a six-game losing streak.

According to the good folks over at OddsShark, Arizona opened up at -1, while some sports books, such as Bovada, have the Cardinals as three-point favorites. It's no wonder the handicappers are having a tough time with this contest. There isn't one glaring disparity with either team.

St. Louis is 6-4 against the spread, while Arizona is 4-5-1. The Cardinals haven't fared quite as well at home and are just 2-3 against the spread.

The over-under for the game is hovering around 37 points, and the under is very much in play due to each team's relatively pedestrian passing attack. Arizona is particularly good at stopping teams through the air and is allowing just 204.7 yards per game.

The controlled environment at University of Phoenix Stadium lends itself to a passing game free from the elements, so the possibility still exists to use the passing game to trump the over.
