Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton views his team's NFC West showdown with the San Francisco 49ers as a "a chance to get back on track", according to comments he made to ArizonaSports.com.

The Cardinals have dropped three consecutive games following a 21-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7, and could use a win against a division rival to right the ship. Skelton, who took over the Cardinals signal calling duties after injuries shelved Kevin Kolb, can feel the excitement heading into a game that could find his team tied for the NFC West lead.

"Being here three years, it seems like every time we play the Niners or the week leading up to it, it's always extra-heightened," Skelton told ArizonaSports.com. "A lot of guys are a little more focused, a little more anxious to get on the field against these guys."

San Francisco (5-2) has won five of the past six meetings between the two teams and is coming off a big 13-6 win over the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. The 49ers are currently tabbed as 6.5-point favorites against the Cardinals, according to Oddsshark.com.

Kickoff for the Cardinals vs. 49ers game on Monday night is scheduled for 5:20 p.m. PT and will be televised on ESPN.
