The Arizona Cardinals host the San Francisco 49ers in a nationally televised contest on Monday night, and if pregame comments are an indication, it is going to be a fierce battle on the field. On the Cardinals side, it appears that the 49ers are an unpopular group.
Arizona defensive end Calais Campbell went on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Tuesday and talked about taking his frustration from last week's loss out of the 49ers, and he'll have a little extra motivation to do so, according to arizonasports.com:
"I really feel like I could have had four sacks last week and I had zero," Campbell said. "So I gotta make up for that this week especially going against the 49ers who I really hate with a passion. "I can't wait to go out there and stick it to them."
Campbell has two sacks on the season so far, and 23 total tackles. The fifth-year veteran recorded one sack in Arizona's win over the 49ers last season.
The Cardinals have struggled since their 4-0 start, dropping the last three games. However, with the 49ers coming to town, Arizona has an opportunity to grab a share of first place with a win. The Cards are currently tied with the Seattle Seahawks at 4-3, one game behind 5-2 San Francisco.
