The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they have re-signed cornerback Crezdon Butler to the practice squad and released cornerback Greg McCoy.
The move is one of many that Butler, a three-year pro, has been a part of this season. After being waived by the Cardinals at their final roster cut on Aug. 31, Butler played in two games with the Washington Redskins this year, but they released him on Sept. 25. Butler returned to Arizona and appeared for Ken Whisenhunt's team against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 before being released.
Arizona originally picked Butler off waivers in September 2011. He appeared in one game for Arizona last year but ended up on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
A fifth-round pick out of Clemson, Butler was drafted in 2010 by the Pittsburgh Steelers and played in four games during his rookie season.
McCoy was a rookie from Texas Christian that was picked in the seventh round of the 2012 draft by the Chicago Bears.
