The Arizona Cardinals were flying high after a four-game winning streak to start the season put them in control for the NFC West title. Unfortunately, they've now lost three games in a row and have some things to work on with a tough stretch of games coming up.
Head coach Ken Whisenhunt doesn't seem to believe there are too many technical things wrong his team, but thinks that they just need to fix the mental and physical errors that are costing them games. Whisenhunt believes improvement will come when those errors are limited, according to azcardinals.com:
"We’ve got to focus on not making mistakes. If we can take care of that, we’ve got a good chance to win, and that’s really what’s important."
Arizona turned the ball over twice and had nine penalties against the Vikings last Sunday, leading to the loss despite out-gaining Minnesota 356-209. The Cardinals have racked up more total yards than their opponents in all three of their losses, but mistakes have proven costly.
The schedule isn't going to offer an relief soon, as Arizona hosts San Francisco, then travels to Green Bay and Atlanta in consecutive weeks. Those teams will be even less forgiving of mistakes, and the Cardinals will have to play much more disciplined football to get wins.
