Arizona Vs. Minnesota: Vikings Lead Cardinals 14-7 At Halftime

The Minnesota Vikings lead the Arizona Cardinals 14-7 at halftime in Minnesota. The Cardinals are actually running the ball somewhat effectively against the Vikings and the Arizona defense has forced two turnovers.

The Cardinals trailed 7-0 after the first quarter, when Paris Lenen intercepted Christian Ponder on the first play of the 2nd quarter. The turnover set up the Cardinals at the Minnesota 16 yard-line and the Cardinals took advantage for their first score of the game.

LaRod Stephens-Howling scored his second rushing touchdown of the season, a three-yard scamper that tied the game up at seven early in the second.

Minnesota responded with a 10-play drive, aided by two Arizona defensive penalties in the redzone, that got the Vikings into the endzone. Percy Harvin continued his impressive season as the former Florida Gator caught a three-yard touchdown pass to put Minnesota up 14-7.

The two teams traded punts until the final seconds of the first half, when Christian Ponder was intercepted by Sam Acho with .05 seconds left in the half. Arizona had a good chance for points, but Jay Feely missed a 47-yard field goal wide right as time expired in the first half.

John Skelton had a solid first half through the air, as third year quarterback went 9/13 with 78 yards in the first half. Stephens-Howling has 42 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown in the first half and Rob Housler leads Arizona with 31 receiving yards on two catches.

The Cardinals have four penalties in the first half, including three that gave the Minnesota offense a first down.
