Cardinals Fire Quarterbacks Coach Chris Miller

The Arizona Cardinals fired quarterbacks coach Chris Miller on Monday, possibly clearing the way for Todd Haley's return.

The Arizona Cardinals fired quarterbacks coach Chris Miller on Monday.

Firing Miller is likely based on the struggles the Cardinals had at QB recently, as the last two years saw Derek Anderson, John Skelton, Max Hall and Kevin Kolb all struggle.

Miller, a former NFL quarterback, came to Arizona after five seasons as the head coach at South Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon. He spent time in the NFL with the Falcons, Broncos and Rams and went to one Pro Bowl.

Todd Haley has also been rumored to rejoin the Cardinals staff and this move lends credence to that. Haley was OC for the Cardinals in 2007 - 2008.

A reported shift in the coaching staff will move offensive coordinator Mike Miller to quarterbacks coach and insert Todd Haley in to the vacated role. Wide receivers coach John McNulty will keep his position.

When word hit that the Arizona Cardinals had let go QB coach Chris Miller, it all but cemented in everyone's mind that recently fired Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley would be returning to Arizona to run the offense and reunite with Ken Whisenhunt. The two coached their way to a Super Bowl and then Haley punched his ticket to run his own team.
