2012 NFL Mock Draft: Arizona Wildcats Star Receiver Juron Criner Headed To Texans

Juron Criner may not have a chance to go in the top-15 of the 2012 NFL Draft like other wide receivers will, but he could very well end up being the best of the bunch. Armed with enough size to go up strong and make a catch, enough speed to beat his defenders and incredible hands capable of causing havoc in the red zone, those in Tucson saw just how special Criner could be the last few years.

While most scouts believe Criner is likely going to be selected in the second round, Russ Lande of Sporting News had Criner in the first round of his latest mock draft.

26. Houston Texans: Juron Criner, WR, Arizona. With Andre Johnson out much of the season with hamstring problems, the Texans' passing attack really struggled. So they grab the vastly underrated Criner-who has good size (6-3, 215), deceptive quickness and rare hands-to play opposite Johnson.

The thought of Johnson and Criner on opposite sides of the field should be a very scary thought for those in the AFC and the duo could become deadly if they are able to stay healthy. Other than wide receiver, the team could also look to improve their secondary.

With so many talented wide receivers available for the 2012 Draft, it is imperative that Criner puts on a show during his workouts. If he does, he may just find his name being called on April 26.
