Beanie Wells Listed As Inactive Sunday vs. Seahawks

After reports from Beanie Wells himself that he was ready to play this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted on Twitter that Wells has been listed as inactive and will not be playing.

Wells has been dealing with a hamstring problem this week that has kept him out of practice, causing some worry amongst Arizona fans and fantasy owners that their productive back will have to sit out a week to get healthy. Wells has 183 rushing yards and two touchdowns already this season, and has been a staple in the Cardinals offensive scheme thus far in the season.

It's been a roller coaster over the last few days with Wells' status. On Friday, Beanie said he was "confident" he would play on Sunday while coach Ken Whisenhunt called him a game-time decision just a few minutes prior. Earlier Sunday morning Wells tweeted he was ready for work that he could play.

Arizona Republic beat writer Kent Somers, who's in Seattle, reported that the team elected to play it safe with Wells to avoid further potential injury.

Look for Chester Taylor to likely get the start up at CenturyLink Field, as well as a few carries for Alfonso Smith as well. LaRod Stephens-Howling has a cast on his hand and will no be available this afternoon.

A game that at first looked like an "easy" win on the schedule against a bad Seattle team has now gotten much more complicated. Facing rain and a hostile crowd and without their most explosive back, the Cardinals will need to step up their defensive game and hope that Kevin Kolb can deliver the ball in a tough environment.
