Arizona Cardinals Place Crezdon Butler On IR, Sign Ronald Talley From Practice Squad

The Arizona Cardinals knew that they could probably be without cornerback Crezdon Butler for awhile after he suffered a dislocated ankle in practice last week. Butler has been put on injured reserve which will end his 2011 campaign.  With Butler out, the Cardinals signed defensive end Ronald Talley, who has been on the Cardinals practice squad.

Talley has been a practice squad warrior in his first few seasons in the league. He started out in 2009 as a rookie on the Green Bay Packers practice squad, then spent time on the Cardinals practice squad in 2010. Talley was in competition for the 53-man roster before the season began, but ultimately ended up back on the practice squad yet again.  This is hopefully not a cruel trick by the Cardinals, who will hopefully not tell him just before gametime, "Oh, we signed Bryan McCann a few hours ago, but we could use you on the practice squad to simulate Justin Tuck!"
