NFL Free Agency: Chansi Stuckey To Cardinals, Reports Say

Free agent wide receiver Chansi Stuckey has signed with the Arizona Cardinals for 2 years, $3.5 million, as reported by Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports. Stuckey is a 6'0, 197 lb receiver that caught 40 passes for 346 yards last year for the Browns. He averaged 8.7 yards per catch but failed to find the endzone.

The signing comes on the heels of the (alleged) departure of Cardinals WR Steve Breaston. Breaston has been rumored to be a Kansas City Chief, as talked about here, but as Chiefs' site ArrowheadPride mentions, there has been no official word as of yet. Per ArrowheadPride, Todd Haley, KC's Head Coach, had this to say about the Breaston rumor:

"I can't, under league rules, until...there's a lot of things going on right now. It's a very fluid situation across the board which has been very interesting so to speak but at this moment, I can't talk about certain things. As soon as that time arrives, I'll be happy to talk about anybody and everybody that may or may not be on the roster."

Though it's unconfirmed at this point, the assumed departure of Breaston means that Stuckey will have a chance to earn some playing time for the Cardinals in 2011. He'll have competition from Early Doucet and Andre Roberts though at the 2 and 3 WR spots behind Larry Fitzgerald. Stuckey, and the rest of Arizona's receiving corps, is going to have the luxury of catching passes from new Cardinal QB Kevin Kolb.
