It's a tough day in Arizona Sports. Division rivals of two of the big pro teams in town acquired top talent while the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cardinals have yet to pull the trigger. Carlos Beltran to the San Francisco Giants makes the defending World Series Champs and NL West leader all the more dangerous. The reigning NFC West Champion Seattle Seahawks added Sidney Rice, the best available free agent wide receiver to play along side of Mike Williams.
↵It's not like the Cardinals and Diamondbacks did nothing today though.
↵Free agent wide receiver Steve Breaston left town for the Kansas City Chiefs offer $9.5 million guaranteed as part of a five-year deal. And the D-backs bought the contract of OF Michael Restovich from the White Sox and sent him to Triple-A Reno...so there's that.
↵But alas, the day's not over and negotiations are still reportedly going on to trade young cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a undetermined draft pick to the Eagles for backup quarterback Kevin Kolb.
↵Obviously, both general manger Kevin Towers and Rod Graves are working hard to find other ways to make their teams better as we type. That magical deal could be just seconds away from hitting the twitter wire.
↵So in the mean time, enjoy your dinner and then sit back and watch Ian Kennedy take on the San Diego Padres. That should cheer you up (no jinx) until some better news comes around.
