2011 SBNAZ Mock Draft: NY Giants Get Interior Line Help

With the New York Giants on the clock, they could go a few ways. They need help at running back, but there is no one worthy of the 19th pick. The same applies to the defensive backfield. So instead, as the team wishes to keep Eli Manning upright and productive during an entire season, they will decide go for offensive line help and select:

Mike Pouncey, C, Florida

We all saw the difference that Pouncey's brother Maurkice made on the Steelers' offensive line and how his absence was a big deal statistically. Mike can play center and guard and will either replace the Shaun O'Hara or play alongside, or maybe play alongside now and replace later. Pouncey is clearly the best interior lineman in the draft. Instead of trying to just upgrade their running back, they attempt to create a much better line to run behind, thus creating greater success with the backs they have and a place backs will be motivated to go and develop.

Next up, on the clock, are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are repped by Cory Williams. Their pick is set to be projected by Cory Williams.

Check out the mock draft on the Arizona Cardinals team blog Revenge of the Birds to see who both the community and the writers are projecting.
