The Detroit Lions are on the verge of breaking through. Offensively they are loaded with Matthew Stafford, Jahvid Best and Calvin Johnson. The one thing they have to ensure that happens ins that Stafford stay healthy. The defense, though, is atrocious even though the have one of the best defensive linemen in the game in Ndomakung Suh.
Since Tyron Smith was selected just a pick ago, the Lions have to go another direction. He would have been at the top of the list. So instead, the choice is:
Cameron Jordan, DE, California
With Suh anchoring in the inside, some outside help is much needed. Kyle Vanden Bosch did weel last year, but he is not the player he was earlier in his career. Jordan is a big play type of player and has the speed and athleticism to succeed at the highest level. He is versatile and can play both inside and out. The attention he will need will help Suh even more and the fact that Suh will draw much attention will aid Jordan to produce.
For tomorrow...the St. Louis Rams are on the clock. Cory Williams brings you that pick.
