The Arizona Cardinals are now up to make their selection. The bummer is that the player considered a perfect fit for the team in day one is unavailable, as the Denver Broncos selected Von Miller with the second pick in the draft. Both of the highest rated QBs are unavailable. So whom will the Cardinals take? Luckily, there is one guy left who is still considered to be a game changer. That guy is, thanks to Cory Williams:
Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
The Arizona Cardinals have a lot of holes on defense, but their biggest issue is the quarterback position. While I would have picked either Gabbert or Newton at this position, they are both off the board. With that in mind, this pick belongs to Patrick Peterson, cornerback out of LSU. People are comparing Peterson to Darrelle Revis of the Jets, and a player with potential of that magnitude cannot be ignored by this organization. Arizona fans will be talking about "Peterson Island" in 2011... if there is a season, of course. He has an opportunity to start immediately in the desert, providing an improvement over last season's dismal passing defense.
For tomorrow...the Cleveland Browns and Scott Howard are on the clock.
