So much for the backup quarterback honeymoon.
Realization set in this weekend during a 6-for-19 performance by John Skelton that maybe the Cardinals were in too much of a hurry to come up with an excuse to get rid of Kevin Kolb that they forgot why Skelton was the backup in the first place. Well, he reminded them of it on Sunday, giving the national Power Rankings plenty of reason to drop the Cards even farther down the rankings.
ESPN spoke on the Skelton performance (or lack thereof) while dropping the Cards four spots to no. 27.
Sportsline ended all talks of Skelton starting even after Kolb returned and dropped the Cards two spots to no. 30.
And SB Nation didn't even feel it was necessary to talk about the Cards, saying that if you read about the Seattle Seahawks, it's the same info. That should tell you something. Oh, and they dropped them three spots to no. 28.
