Don't worry fantasy football players, this injury news won't impact your game. That's not to say missing starting safety Kerry Rhodes will impact the Arizona Cardinals. Rashad Johnson will start in place of Rhodes until he's able to return.
According to head coach Ken Whisenhunt, Rhodes may need surgery but that hasn't been determined yet. The injury is not considered season-ending but Whisenhunt expects Rhodes to miss several weeks but also expects him back with plenty of games left on the schedule.
"We're going to further asses (the injury) today and we'll have a better idea afterwards which is a shame, Kerry's been playing good football for us," Whisenhunt said.
The Cardinals will look to see what players are available and bring some in for workouts. They could add someone to the practice squad to have more depth at safety. With Rhodes out, that leaves only Adrian Wilson, Rashad Johnson and Hamza Abdullah on the depth chart.
Starting left guard Daryn Colledge missed the second half of Sunday's game with a head injury. He'll need to pass the concussion test but that's not considered to be a concern.
The Cardinals have a bye week and will practice Tuesday and Wednesday this week and then will be off Thursday through Sunday per the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
