Steve Breaston Out Two Games With Knee Injury, The Timing Couldn't Be Better

The Arizona Cardinals revealed today that wide receiver Steve Breaston will miss the next two games after his "bruised knee" also turned out to be more serious than originally reported.

↵

Breaston -- like another bruised knee sufferer, Beanie Wells -- had surgery to repair a torn meniscus and will be out for three weeks. Fortunately, the Cardinals didn't really have much of a chance anyway against  the Chargers on the road and then the Saints at home before heading into the bye week.

As in bye, bye plus .500 record.

↵

The good news is if the Cards can get healthy going into Week 7, they finish the season with only the Vikings and Chiefs on the road and perhaps the Cowboys at home looming as obvious schedule losses.

↵

It is very possible that the Cardinals go 7-5 after the bye week and finish the season 9-7 which will probably win the division. Of course, that assumes that the defense starts playing up to its potential, the running game continues to improve, and the injury bug is mostly over.

Otherwise, Seattle will be the team left standing from the NFC West. It's certainly time to start turning our attention (and wicked Voodoo powers) on them since the 49ers are toast.

So take your time, Stevie Breaston, and come back nice and healthy for that October 24 game in against the Seahawks
