Arizona Cardinals Injury Report Week 16: Early Doucet to IR, Roster Changes

Following a hip injury suffered during the 19-12 loss to the Carolina Panthers, receiver Early Doucet's season officially is over. The Arizona Cardinals placed him on injured reserve. To replace his spot on the roster, Arizona promoted linebacker Curtis Gatewood from the practice squad. Linebacker Brandon Sharpe was signed to the practice squad by the Cardinals to replace Gatewood's spot there. There has still been no word on Joey Porter's triceps injury.

Doucet's season ends with a career best 26 receptions for 291 yards, but was mostly a disappointment because of time lost to injuries (he has only played in 26 games over three seasons), timely drops (five on the season) and a lack of impact following the departure of Anquan Boldin.

With Doucet out, Andre Roberts will move up to the number three receiver. This would mean that undrafted rookies Stephen Williams and Max Komar will have their opportunity to make an impact on offense. Williams will move up to number four and Komar will likely now be active for the game. With only two games left in the season, it is their last chance to make an impression on the field.
