The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers released their inactives for their Week 15 game. For the Cardinals, quarterback Derek Anderson and linebacker Gerald Hayes are the most notable. Anderson still is not fully recovered from his concussion. Hayes is a healthy scratch. The other Arizona inactives are SS Hamza Abdullah, OL Ben Claxton, CB Marshay Green, LB Gerald Hayes, CB A.J. Jefferson, WR Max Komar and DT Gabe Watson. For the Panthers CB Chris Gamble, WR Armanti Edwards, SS Gerald Alexander, CB R.J. Stanford, OC Chris Morris and DT Corvey Irvin are inactive. Gamble is a healthy scratch for the fourth consecutive week.
With Watson and Hayes out, it is evident of the progress that rookies Dan Williams and Daryl Washington have made. Hayes has been a disappointment since returning from his back injury. Last season, he was one of the Cardinals' most important defensive players. Many believed that his absence was one of the big reasons their defense was lit up n the playoffs. This season he has been slow and undisciplined and Washington is making plays with his speed, even if he still has a lot to learn.
These are positives for the future of the AZ defense.
