If you are looking to the Cardinals-Buccaneers game for players in your fantasy football matchup this week, your squad is in a ton of trouble.
The best plays on both squads are the Cards defense and the Bucs defense. Both offenses are shaky and should be prone to turnovers. Neither has an effective running game, passing game, or scores many points. Tampa Bay and Arizona coincidently are tied for 29th in the league in scoring, at 16.3 points per game.
Ken Whisenhunt has said Max Hall will be the Cardinals starter if he is healthy coming off his concussion against the Seahawks. Either way, I no longer start any player on the Cardinals offense and that is including Larry Fitzgerald. Fitz hasn't had one game this year with over 100 yards and only has two touchdowns.
If you are really in trouble, two guys to look at on Tampa's offense are rookie WR Mike Williams and rookie RB LeGarrette Blount.
Williams has been Josh Freeman's favorite target this season (53 targets leads team) and has three touchdowns. Problem is, he has shown a propensity to put the football on the ground, with three fumbles (two of them lost).
In limited work, Blount has put up a solid 4.9 yards per carry (21 carries, 102 yards). With Carnell Williams struggling to get going and averaging 2.5 yards per carry, don't be surprised to see Blount get most of the work this week. Blount is coming off a solid game against the Rams where he ran for 72 yards on 11 carries.
