With the NFL free agency period winding down, all eyes are now turning to the draft next April. Draft experts are now starting to zero in on team's intentions, but for the most part this year's class remains muddled.
SB Nation's Dan Kadar and Matthew Fairburn released their latest mock draft on Monday. In it, they have Arizona selecting LSU DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo with the seventh pick:
The Cardinals need pass-rush help in a big way. The team gets a fair amount of pressure from end Calais Campbell and middle linebacker Daryl Washington, but they don't have anyone on the outside that can consistently get to the quarterback. Mingo can line up opposite Sam Acho, who is much more adept at dropping back in coverage.
Arizona still needs help at offensive line, meaning they could go with either Eric Fisher or Lane Johnson, depending on who's available at this spot. There's also the possibility of Geno Smith falling to No. 7, although the Jaguars and Raiders seem to have their hearts set on the West Virginia product.
A lot can change between now and April, and until then it's nearly impossible to pin down how the top 10 will play out. Stay tuned.
