The NIT selection show will follow not long after the end of the NCAA tournament selection show on Sunday night.
Regular-season conference champions that lost in their league tournaments and did not receive at-large bids to the NCAAs receive automatic bids to the NIT. The rest of the 32-team field will be selected by a committee; the top seeds in the NIT are often those schools that were close to or among the last-four left out of the NCAA tournament.
Last season, Stanford emerged out of the Arizona bracket to win the tournament, beating the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the championship game.
You can find projections for the 2013 field over at The Bracket Project.
