Matt Scott and Dan Buckner led the Arizona Wildcats to a wild and unforgettable season as seniors. Now, with an eight-win season and New Mexico Bowl victory in hand, Scott and Buckner will look to improve their stock before the 2013 NFL Draft arrives in April.
According to a report from Ryan Finley of the Arizona Daily Star, the two senior standouts will play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 19. The game is held annually in St. Petersburg, Florida. It will be televised by NFL Network at 4 p.m. ET.
In addition to the game, Scott and Buckner will have a chance to compete against other draft hopefuls in front of NFL scouts and executives. Both players figure to be drafted, although a strong or poor showing in workout drills could be the difference between a mid-round pick and not going until late on the final day.
Scott completed 301 of his 499 pass attempts last season for 3,620 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also carried the ball 113 times for 506 yards and six scores.
Buckner hauled in 61 receptions for 773 yards and five touchdowns, which were all second-best on the team behind only sophomore Austin Hill.
