Phoenix Suns vs. Utah Jazz: Starting Line-Ups, Coaches Quotes, and More

It is all about the defense and more specifically the play of P.J. Tucker as of late. When the team wins it is because of their defense, which will be key against the methodical Jazz.

Christian Petersen

The New Year started off strong with a home win predicated on defense for the Phoenix Suns (12-21) at home against a team coming in on a back-to-back. It appears the New Year is full of gifts for the team as the Utah Jazz come in off of a back-to-back as well with the Suns well rested.

This is the perfect game for the Suns to get their season on track and an equally dreadful position to lay an egg against a winnable opponent.

Overall the Jazz have been a formidable opponent despite the Suns taking charge as of late winning 8/10 in the series. Each team has drawn blood at home this season with this being a "rubber match" of sorts for the season. This game is going to come down to defense as the Suns give up only 95.82 points per game at home and the Jazz are giving up 99.2 points overall.

Whoever can play the best grind it out type game will come out victorious.

The Suns can win their 2,000 game tonight becoming the fourth fastest team in the history of the league to get there behind only the Philadelphia 76ers (3,125), Los Angeles Lakers (3,262), and the Boston Celtics (3,564).
