BMW Championship 2012 Results: Rory McIlroy Wins, Phil Mickelson Ties For Second

Rory McIlroy won yet again on Sunday afternoon at the 2012 BMW Championship, shooting five-under par to improve his overall score to -20 for the event. He picks up 2,500 points in the FedEx Cup standings and will be the heavy favorite heading into the final PGA Tour event.

Phil Mickelson, who went to school at Arizona State University, tied for second place with Lee Westwood at -18 overall. Mickelson shot a -2 on Sunday and was in contention for the title until the final few holes. He wins 1,250 FedEx Cup points, as does Westwood.

Tiger Woods had a strong tournament and finished for fourth place at -17 overall. He shot four-under on Sunday. Robert Garrigus also finished at -17. Both players receive 650 FedExCup points.

Dustin Johnson and Adam Scott placed sixth at -16, while Vijay Singh struggled on the final day to drop to -15. Jim Furyk finished in ninth place at -14. Ryan Moore and Bo Van Pelt tied after shooting 13-under to round out the top 10.
