Larry Fitzgerald Happy To See The Cardinals' QB Controversy End

New, 1 comment

The Arizona Cardinals have finally selected John Skelton as their starting QB ahead of the Week 1 opener against the Seattle Seahawks, and star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is relieved.

Fitzgerald spoke about the decision Monday, according to arizonasports.com:

"I'm just happy it's behind us and we don't have to answer that question every day," he said.

Fitz said that he respects head coach Ken Whisenhunt's decision and is ready to move forward with the season with Skelton at the helm.

"We're going to follow his lead and go into the trenches with him. We're going to fight it out," he said.

Skelton completed 55% of his passes for 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2011. The third-year player has just a 66.9 career QB rating. He led the Cardinals to an overtime win over the Seahawks in the final game of the regular season last year, going 22-40 for 271 yards and a touchdown.
