2012 Deutsche Bank Championship Purse: Rory McIlroy Takes Home $1.44 Million

Rory McIlroy has won the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston, and he was rewarded handsomely for his victory on Monday. The 23-year-old from Northern Ireland takes home $1.44 million after coming back from three strokes down to start the day. Louis Oosthuizen, who started the day on top, lost a nice chunk of change with his final-round stumble. Still, the South African won't go home anywhere close to empty-handed, with an $864,000 payday.

Tiger Woods, one of the highest-earning athletes in the world thanks to his Nike endorsement, finished in third and gets $544,000 for his efforts. With these winnings, Woods is the first PGA Tour golfer to amass over $100 million in career earnings.

Phil Mickelson finished in a fourth-place tie with Dustin Johnson. Each will receive $352,000 for the weekend's work. The winnings for the rest of the top ten are as follows:

6. Brandt Snedeker -- $288,000

t-7. Adam Scott -- $258,000

t-7. Jeff Overton -- $258,000

9. Bryce Molder -- $232,000

t-10. Kevin Stadler -- $208,000

t-10. Ryan Moore -- $208,000
