Arizona State alum Phil Mickelson finished four places behind FedEx Cup champion Brandt Snedeker in the race for the coveted PGA Tour trophy.
Following a fourth place finish at the Deutsche Bank and a second place finish at the BMW Championship, Mickelson had the opportunity to take home the $10 million FedEx Cup pot if he could just emerge victorious from the Tour Championship.
Unfortunately for Lefty, Mickelson finished the tournament tied for 15th, twelve strokes behind what it would have took to earn himself the FedEx Cup for the first time in his career.
Rory McIlroy (2,827 points), Tiger Woods (2,663 points) and Nick Watney (2,215 points) were the other three competitors that finished between Mickelson (2,073 points) and Snedeker (4,100 points) in the final standings.
