Arizona Diamondbacks Vs. Colorado Rockies: Ian Kennedy Eyes Win No. 15

With the NL West title now out of their reach, the Arizona Diamondbacks are still fighting for a wild card spot in the National League, and a win against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday would certainly help their chances.

Arizona is just 4.5 games back of the final wild card spot in the NL, though will need some help from the Dodgers, Brewers and Phillies, all of whom are ahead of them in the standings.

The D-backs will send Ian Kennedy (14-11, 4.08 ERA) to the mound, who is 3-0 with a 1.98 ERA in his last four outings. He's been particularly good over his last two starts, allowing no runs on four hits in 7.1 innings to beat the Dodgers 1-0 on Sept. 11 followed up with a one-run performance over eight innings of Tuesday's 3-2 win against the Padres.

Colorado will counter with Jeff Francis (5-6, 5.58), who's taken the loss in his last two outings. He gave up two runs in five innings of work en route to a 6-3 loss to the Giants on Tuesday. He has a 6.23 ERA over his last four starts.

First pitch is set for 12:10 pm. PT with coverage on Forx Sports Arizona and KTAR 620 AM.
