The Arizona Diamondbacks head to Coors Field to take on the Colorado Rockies this weekend in what is turning out to be a must win series to keep any semblance of a chance at a playoff spot.
Currently 12.5 games back in the NL West and 5.5 back in the NL Wild Card race, The D-backs are dangerously close to becoming irrelevant for the rest of the season. A sweep of the last place Rockies would go a long way in helping that cause.
Wade Miley (15-10, 3.10 ERA) takes the bump for Arizona, looking to continue his success against Colorado. Miley is 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA in four career appearances against the Rockies, three of them starts. He is 1-2 with a 4.85 ERA over his last four starts.
Colorado will counter with Drew Pomeranz (1-9, 5.06), currently riding a 12-start winless stretch. Pomeranz is 0-6 with a 6.52 ERA since his last win against the Nationals on July 6.
First pitch is set for 5:10 p.m. PT with coverage on Fox Sports Arizona and KTAR 620 AM.
