Running back Cameron Marshall's senior season hasn't gotten off to the start many expected, but that hasn't kept him from fulfilling his role as one of the Sun Devils' team leaders.

Marshall has gained just 81 yards on 25 carries during Arizona State's first three games. This comes after he ran for 1,050 yards and 18 touchdowns a season ago. While some players might get frustrated, or voice their displeasure with the lack of touches, Marshall has continued to practice hard.

"As a competitor I want to be out there every single play, (but) obviously, that's not possible, " Marshall said Thursday, according to AZCentral.com. "I trust this coaching staff. I trust any scheme that's going to allow us to win games, and we've won two so far. And I think we have a good plan moving forward."

Marshall missed practice time earlier this season with a hamstring injury, something head coach Todd Graham suggested might have led to his slow start. Marshall has practiced this week and could see an increase in touches as ASU opens Pac-12 play against Utah.
