The Tour Championship 2012: Tiger Woods Tied For Lead, Phil Mickelson Tied For 12th

The first round of the 2012 Tour Championship has wrapped up beautifully at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga. After 18 holes of play, Tiger Woods and Justin Rose are tied atop the leaderboard at 4-under. Rose did not get off to a great start, but he birdied three of his last five holes for an impressive finish to his day. Woods also birdied three of his last six, including back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16.

Scott Piercy, Bo Van Pelt, Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker are all tied at 3-under. Hunter Mahan, Adam Scott, Robert Garrigus, Zach Johnson and Brandt Snedeker are two strokes back of the leaders at 2-under.

Phil Mickelson, an Arizona State University alum, is tied for 12th place at 1-under. He birdied holes 14 and 17, although two bogies were sandwiched in between those two. Rory McIlroy is also tied with Mickelson at 1-under.
