Arizona Cardinals Lose Offensive Lineman Jeremy Bridges For Season

The Arizona Cardinals, who actually suffered very few injuries in the preseason, have suffered another blow to their maligned offensive line. After losing left tackle Levi Brown for the season to a torn triceps, they have lost another veteran player. Reserve lineman Jeremy Bridges, who plays both guard and tackle, tweeted that he was placed on injured reserve for torn ligaments in his thumb.

On injured reserve, he will miss the entire 2012 season. The team could possibly use the new rule that would allow him to be placed on the new reserved/injured list that would allow a player to be reactivated during the season. However, it may be only one player and the team would rather save that for a player down the line that is a starter and would have a chance of coming back during the season.

This will free up a spot on the active roster. Look for the team to pick up another tackle in free agency as the other tackle they previously cut, D.J. Young, has already found a job with the Philadelphia Eagles.
