Ryan Williams had to do one thing with a minute to play and his Arizona Cardinals leading the New England Patriots by two points -- hold onto the ball. But on a pitch play to the outside, Williams fumbled after Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes put his head to pigskin.

Thanks to the fumble, the Patriots had set up Stephen Gostkowski for a 42-yard field goal that would give them the win. But Gostkowski missed it wide left and the Cardinals escaped with the victory. Still, Williams was emotional on the sidelines.

Via The Arizona Republic:

"I was just trying my best not to cry on the field, national TV," Williams told reporters after the 20-18 victory, "and I end up crying anyway."

Despite multiple teammates and even Cardinals President Michael Bidwill offering their support, Williams was shaken. TV cameras caught him crying on the sideline after the missed field goal and his Arizona teammates erupted with excitement.
