Cardinals Vs. Patriots 2012: Shock And Surprise In Arizona And New England

Well, not many expected Sunday's Arizona Cardinals win over the New England Patriots. Hearts sank all over the Valley of the Sun when the Patriots recovered a late fumble and had a chance at the winning field goal.

But Stephen Gostkowski missed badly, and the Cards won 20-18. Wrote Jess Root on Revenge of the Birds:

No one believed it could happen, but the Arizona Cardinals went into Foxborough and defeated the New England Patriots 20-18 by a strong performance by the Arizona defense, a passing touchdown and a running touchdown by Kevin Kolb and a Stephen Gostkowski missed field goal at the end of the game.

Yes, it really happened. Is it a sign of good things to come for the Cardinals this season? Too early to tell.

Greg Knopping of Pats Pulpit, SB Nation's Patriots blog, took a different approach. He broke down the Pats' loss in numbers. It's quite telling.
