After being suspended on Aug. 21 for violating team rules, defensive lineman Justin Washington rejoined the team at practice when classes began at the University of Arizona, although he has yet to see time on the field. When he will see time on the field has yet to be revealed, although head coach Rich Rodriguez complimented the end on his focus upon returning.
"He had a pretty good week last week, and is off to a good start this week," Rodriguez told Ryan Finley of the Arizona Daily Star.
Washington, a junior, started 15 games before a new defensive system was implemented, although he was expected to compete for a starting role on the inside of the defensive line. His true breakout year was as a redshirt freshman when he started nine games and earned Freshman All-America honors from some publications, although his hype tempered a bit after a moderate sophomore campaign.
