NFL Injury Report: Cardinals Could Be Without John Skleton For 4-6 Weeks

Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton went down with a right ankle injury Sunday and is now expected to miss somewhere between 4-6 weeks, according to Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910.

Skelton had to be helped onto the cart after suffering the injury in the fourth quarter when Seattle's Bruce Irvin and Brandon Mebane collided with his leg.

Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter has already confirmed that Skelton's injury involved no breakage but it's still unclear what his exact timetable is. He was 14-of-29 for 149 yards and an interception before leaving the game.

With Skelton missing time, Kevin Kolb moves up to take the starting position with rookie Ryan Lindley operating as his backup. But if Kolb continues to put up the stats he did on the Cardinals game-winning touchdown drive (6-of-8, 66 yards, six-yard touchdown to Andre Roberts), Skelton might return to a team that's moved on from him.

Then again, with the way the Arizona quarterback carousel has been operating these past two seasons, I don't think it would surprise anyone if Skelton still gets another chance later on this year.
