London 2012 Medal Count: Great Britain Climbs Into Third

The London Olympic games are reaching their climax, and right now it's anyone's guess whether the United States or China will end up winning the medal count. Right now the Chinese are the ones on top after another solid day of action, leading the United States by three medals overall and four golds.

The good news for the USA is that they do have a lot of team events upcoming as well as events like the track relays, where they are always in contention. Many strong events await for the United States, although the same probably holds true for China.

After a slow start, the biggest news is the emergence of Great Britain, as they've now moved into a solid third place standing in terms of golds and could very well challenge the USA and China when it's all said and done in first place finishes. Great Britain leads Russia in terms of golds although they are tied in overall medals at 48.
