The 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship got underway on Thursday, with the morning group getting some early conditions ripe for scoring. That included Tiger Woods, who sits atop the leaderboard after an impressive first round at TPC Boston in Norton, MA.
Tiger was in the zone on Thursday, firing an opening round 64 to put him 7-under for the tourney, tied with Jeff Overton. Woods had eight birdies and one bogey on his card today, netting five straight on his first five holes of the day.
Austrailian John Senden and South African Louis Oosthuizen are currently tied for third place after opening rounds of 5-under par, while Ian Poulter, Dustin Johnson, Luke Donald and two others finished with 4-under 67's on Thursday.
Phil Mickelson is part of the afternoon group, currently sitting at 1-under for the day after six holes.
