2012 Olympics 2012, Men's Archery Individual Medal Event: Oh Jin Hyek Claims South Korea's First Archery Gold Medal

Even though top-seeded Korean Im Dong-Hyun got knocked out on the men's archery event early, Oh Jin Hyek came through in the clutch to give South Korea their first men's individual Olympic gold medal in archery at the 2012 London Olympic games.

Oh defeated Japan's Takaharu Furukawa in the final by the score of 7-1, including seven 10's compared to only three for Furukawa.

The 30-year-old Oh defeated defending gold medalist Viktor Ruban of Ukraine in the in the quarterfinals, as well as taking out China's Dai Xiaoxiang in the semifinals. Dai beat the Netherlands' Rick van der Ven for the bronze medal.
