2012 U.S. Open Tennis Scores: Andy Roddick, Venus Williams Dominate

Americans Andy Roddick and Venus Williams both flew through their first-round matches of the 2012 U.S. Open in Flushing, New York, on Tuesday.

Roddick, a 20-seed, finished off fellow American Rhyne Williams in sets of 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4, and recorded 20 aces to Williams' seven at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Later in the day, unseeded Venus Williams quickly advanced past American Bethanie Mattek-Sands in two sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Also in women's action on Day 2 of the U.S. Open, Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, the No. 2 seed, defeated Nina Bratchikova of Russia in sets of 6-1, 6-1.

For the men, No. 5 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga brought down Slovakia's Karol Beck in three sets while No. 6 seed Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic beat Belgium's David Goffin in three sets.
