The Arizona Cardinals trail 17-10 at halftime of their Thursday night preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.
Tennessee got the scoring started early in the first quarter when Jake Locker hit Kendall Wright for a 10-yard touchdown pass. Arizona got on the board late in the first quarter with a field goal before Tennessee scored the next 10 points to take a 17-3 lead. Kevin Kolb led Arizona on a late touchdown drive, connecting on a 3-yard touchdown pass with Andre Roberts with just eight seconds to play in the first half.
John Skelton started the game for the Cardinals and struggled, completing 4-of-10 passes for 41 yards and an interception. Kolb took over and had much more success than he has previously this preseason. Kolb completed 9-of-12 passes for 95 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Beanie Wells saw his first action of the preseason during the first half, rushing for 12 yards on six carries. His backfield mate, Ryan Williams, had three carries for 15 yards in the first half.
Kolb is expected to see some more time during the third quarter as Arizona looks to even their preseason record at 2-2.
