The 2012 PGA Championship was unpredictable and plagued by delays, but in the end, Rory McIlroy broke his 2012 slump to run away with the title on Sunday.
McIlroy entered Sunday in a tie with Vijay Singh for the lead and needed to play half of his weather-delayed third round and all of his fourth round in one day. Luckily, he was masterful from start to finish and finished with a whopping eight-stroke lead over runner-up David Lynn, winning the Championship with a final score of 13-under.
Tiger Woods stayed in the hunt until the last day and although his fourth round was an even par, his 2-under was only good for an 11th place tie.
As for local boy Phil Mickelson, his 2012 didn't get any easier in South Carolina. He shot a 2-over on Sunday to finish the tournament at 3-over and in a tie for 36th place.
